The BASS programme is offered in Kyambogo University as one of the programmes in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The Program is a blend of the Social Science disciplines of Social Administration, Sociology, Political Science and Psychology. This programme is required worldwide and in Uganda particularly to address topical issues in social policy and political analysis, sociological and psychological challenges in contemporary Uganda. It essentially addresses itself to social administration; social policy; politics; civil society international/diplomatic relations; management; social development; public policy issues and the role of sociology and psychology in socio-economic development. Designed to equip students with practical methodologies and skills, the BASS programme overall provides the analytical tools to explore social phenomena. The programme also seeks to equip the students with the methodologies and practices of working with and in communities.
