Bachelor of Arts in Security and Diplomatic Studies (ASD)
Security and diplomacy are some of the fastest growing areas of concern in the academic, corporate and public domains. This is due not only to the threats of war and terrorism but also because of rising crime, trans boundary insecurity, global and national terrorism and political upheaval. As a result, national governments, international agencies and major corporations more than ever before, recognize the need for personnel with a strong grasp of issues of security, intelligence and diplomacy who can demonstrate exceptional skills of research, practical policy responses and analysis. The Bachelor of Security and Diplomatic studies is structured around three key themes: the contemporary security environment, the range of options available to governments and businesses to manage and respond to security challenges, as well as emerging and ongoing challenges to security. The program emphasizes both analytical skills and creativity in responding to new and complex challenges.
