About Us

The Department of Social Work and Social Administration is one of the six (06) departments in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Kyambogo University. The department is currently running a Master of Social Work program and two undergraduate academic programs, namely Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration (BSWSA) and Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (BASS). The latter, however, is shared by other departments namely, Political science, Psychology, Economics, and Sociology department. These programmes fascinate a big number of prospective students every academic year. Important to note is that these programs are revised every after five years.

Besides the undergraduate program and the Master of Social Work program, the department of Social Work is also working on the PhD program in Social Work. Entry requirements for each of the academic programs are in accordance with Kyambogo University’s graduate and undergraduate program guidelines, and as determined by the University Council from time to time.

The Department of Social Work and Social Administration strives to become a reputable Centre of excellence in training and producing professionals with knowledge, skills, and positive attitude facilitated by qualified, competent, experienced and intrinsically motivated staff.
